Thank you for visiting my site and considering me as a resource for mental health treatment.
I am a general adult psychiatrist in private practice since 1997.   I offer comprehensive psychiatric consultations, individual psychotherapy and medication management services.  My offices are located in Chapel Hill, NC a short distance from the intersection of I-40 and 15-501.

I partner with clients actively in first understanding presenting concerns and then devising a mutually agreeable treatment plan. Patients are viewed holistically with attention to psychological, biological, environmental and spiritual aspects of their current functioning.

Many patients improve with individual (talk) psychotherapy, appropriate psychiatric medication where indicated and additional recommendations tailored to meet individual patient needs.   I am grounded in psychodynamic approaches to psychotherapy which promote insight, growth and psychological well being.  Patients are empowered to take more responsibility in their lives and healing.

I have expertise in the psychopharmacologic/biologic treatment of most psychiatric conditions. We will work toward options which aim to optimize benefits and minimize risks.  Integrative and other holistic treatment approaches are often recommended as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
